“SPEAKEASY” wants to promote language learning and linguistic diversity across the EU-MS and to increase participation in LifeLongLearning at all ages. “SPEAKEASY” addresses migrants with various cultural, religious and social backgrounds and differing levels of host country language proficiency.

“SPEAKEASY” is employing an innovative way of learning languages by applying a flexible and practical method of learning, focusing on real life situations and challenges in everyday life in the host country. The learning environment and teaching methods are language clubs in one or the other recreational activity.

This method allows personalised learning and guidance, enabling the learners to feel confident about content and speed of learning. The interactive activities are meant to not only motivate migrants to learn the language, its phonetics and morphology, but also to promote a better understanding of the culture and traditions of the host country while at the same time transmitting the cultural heritage of their source countries. In so doing the project contributes to awareness-raising of similarities and differences between cultures and behaviour patterns through language training.

We can estimate that there are between 2.702.000 and 4.632.000 people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the broadest sense of the word in the EU.

All professionals in the fields of education, social health-care or enterprises must therefore acquire cognitive and key behavioural skills in order to be able to deal directly with this public who is more and more integrated in a normal social life.

The course created by SESAME AUTISME LANGUEDOC responds to those needs and is subject to the HIPE4ASD transfer.

PROGRAM: Europe for Citizen Programme of the European Union
STATE: Over
SUBJECT AREA: International

The project “Let’s get active! Incentives for citizens active participation in the democratic life of the European Union” is co-fundedbythe Europe for Citizens Programme of the European Union, Action 2 - Active civil society in Europe, Measure 3: Support to projects initiated by civil society organizations.

All the project activities will take place in all the 4 partner countries: Cyprus, Poland, Romania and Italy.

The general conclusion from the project background analysis seems to be that citizens of the European Union (EU) member countries appreciate the membership of their countries in EU and also are aware and have expectations in the benefits of being a member. Still – for some reasons – most of the EU citizens do not engage themselves in the process of shaping the EU politics. The question is “ why”? The main aim of the project is to learn the reasons and root causes of not participating in the democratic life and to increase the level of engagement and democratic participation of the citizens being aware of the role they can have in shaping the EUs’ policies and thus the future of Europe shaping.

The on-line research and the Citizen’s Forum (4 National and 1 International) offer a “space” where the citizens beneficiaries of the project, could share their opinions, needs, expectations and ideas concerning active participation in the democratic life of EU. The conclusions developed will formulate feedback and recommendations for more active democratic participation of the EU citizens in a final document.

The solutions and recommendations will be disseminate among relevant Institutions and Organizations at National and European level and would also like to reach other relevant stakeholders.
