We are a social cooperative which strives for care, assistance and promotion of the individual.
We recognise to each of us the fundamental right to have a fair quality of life; for this, we study, specialise and work every day with healthcare and self-care professionals.
For us, every person is unique: to protect him/her is our primary objective, so our motto is“at the heart of our Coossmos is YOU”; we are convinced that the peculiarity of each person is a treasure, to be protected and highlighted.
We are involved in social, healthcare, welfare and education services, for all those who request or need them: from infants to elderly people, from immigrants to students. We have always been interested in research and training, as well as in the integration and social contribution in the territory (mainly in the Marche region), in order to secure a job for our associates
COOSS Marche was created after long meetings, debates, opinions: we have often talked until late night about democratic participation and the composition of decision-making bodies.
After three months of hard work, with the help of the "Lega delle Cooperative e Mutue", we have met with the notary for the incorporation of the Cooperative. It was spring 1979, the beginning of a story that still goes on today.
In the following months, COOSS Marche worked to build its own future and to create its own regulatory tools to operate. As in other areas of Italy, we have investigated with local entities the best way to offer to citizens high quality social services, in compliance with the law and guaranteeing to managers the financial terms and conditions to support the organisational and labour costs.
Ten home helps of the cooperative started to work in the homes of elderly people in the city: a new model of collaboration between public and private sector, never tried before in this industry, was born.
By raising awareness in all the local entities of the area, COOSS Marche services in the territory grew day after day. In those years we expanded, specialised in home help services and opened our own head office, with work locations and meeting rooms. We became more independent and aware of our role and potential.
1985 was the year of the relaunch and service diversification: with the collaboration of the new associates, we opened a residential centre for elderly people, an ideal opportunity to gain experience in this field.
Moreover, after many months of meetings and negotiations, we launched the first educational and school assistance service for people with disabilities in the area, an innovative service based on a formula which allowed the networking of many local governments and health units.
In 1991 the political authorities became aware of the existence and importance of the cooperatives in the welfare sector, thus starting to move towards the regulation of the industry: the Marche regional council certified the existence of COOSS, ratifying our legal status and creating the Regional Register of the social cooperatives.
Two years later, we create the research, development and training department, intended to operate in the sector of European research, occupational training and participation to Community tender: our courses offered to many base assistants the obligatory professional qualifications.
In the meanwhile, COOSS had also the first significant experiences in psychiatry, pathological addiction and childhood, with the management of the first crèche services and the creation of two protected communities and nursing home for people with mental disabilities.
Moreover, to satisfy the need of new spaces and logistic solutions, COOSS inaugurated the new Ancona office, in Via Saffi 4, to this day our head office and administrative headquarter.
Along with the migrations from non-EU eastern Europe countries, in the first years of the 2000 decade the number of caregivers from these countries grew like never before. COOSS analysed this phenomenon, creating the condition for professional registration and training courses for these new welfare operators.
Also, in collaboration with Loreto municipality, we took in the management of Istituto Santo Stefano, in Porto Potenza Picena, a 120-bed nursing home which had rapidly become the landmark in homes for elderly people and people with disabilities in the Marche region.
Finally, to offer eve more guarantees to the associates, COOSS went through a quality certification programme for several areas of intervention, which led to the UNI EN 9000 certification.
Today, COOSS promotes new social policies, by characterising and valuing its decades of presence in each area and, at the same time, proposes itself to public bodies as the ideal candidate to solve problems and experience new models and services.
A long and difficult task awaits us: to make sustainable that welfare system that was guaranteed until this day. This call for change, together with the ability to adapt to the new global economy scenario, must be the driver and inspiration of our strategic choices in the next years
For this reason, in 2013 a COOSS delegation flew to China to meet representatives of JFC Group, in their Guangzhou office. This was a key meeting to compare two points of reference in the social services industry, so far away geographically yet so close in purposes and abilities: we have engaged and will engage with excitement and curiosity to create team work and to export our knowledge outside Europe
We are more and more convinced that COOSS main asset is its people, its experience, the knowledge acquired and the relationship we have built throughout the years, a concrete evidence of our work.
Many pages of our history are yet to be written. And we would like to write them with you.
The Jesi operating office is active since the end of the 80s. At the beginning it had only a few operators who provided services to people with disabilities, coordinated by a contact sent from the headquarters.
Since mid 90s, until the beginning of the 2000s, this office was re-organised and expanded, in order to provide more services, thanks also to new coordinators and managers in the areas of Management, Marketing and Research & Training.
Nowadays, the Jesi office manages all services, both owned and managed, in the Ambito Territoriale Sociale IX and in the municipalities of Chiaravalle, Serra S. Quirico, Fabriano and Cerreto.
We work in the fields of disabilities, early childhood, psychiatry, elderly people and minors at risk.
About 400 people work in the headquarters: associates-cooperators, coordinators, managers and operators.

COOSS Matelica office was founded in 1998, after the earthquake which struck the area in the previous year caused many welfare needs, with all the psychological and material consequences.
So we created the Progetto Serenità, which analysed the situation in the area and organised training courses and services which act diffusely in the reference territory (Mountain Communities of Camerino and San Severino, plus Tolentino municipality).
The Matelica office can provide many services even in the most remote areas of the territory: home care for elderly and people with disabilities, nursing services, cooking and entertainment in residential homes, educational support from crèche services to high school.

La Sede Operativa di Fermo nasce nel 1999 con la fusione per incorporazione di una storica Cooperativa Sociale con sede a Porto San Giorgio, con la quale era in atto da lunga data una proficua collaborazione.
Gli ambiti in cui operiamo prevalentemente sono Servizi Educativi Scolastici e Domiciliari rivolti a disabili psicofisici e di Servizi di Assistenza Domiciliare rivolti ad anziani e disabili.
Fanno riferimento alla sede di Fermo circa 400 soci cooperatori, coordinatori di servizi, professionisti.
La sede gestisce circa 50 servizi che interessano i Comuni delle province di Fermo, Ascoli Piceno e parte della provincia di Macerata e che comprendono gli Ambiti Sociali 15, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24.
Nei servizi gestiti gli interventi principali riguardano: Centri Socio Educativi Riabilitativi (7 strutture), Residenze Protette (2 strutture), Unità extra-ospedaliere (2 strutture), Centri Diurni/Progetti Sollievo (3 servizi), Servizi Assistenza Domiciliare (Ambiti 19, 20, 21, 23), Servizi Educativi e Scolastici (Ambiti 19, 20, 21, 23), Servizio Inserimento Lavorativo (Ambiti 19, 20, 24), Assistenza Domiciliare Integrata (ASUR AV 4).
