The activity of the Department of Research mainly consists in the study and prevention of social phenomena, through the implementation of projects financed by EU, national and regional programs, or funds made available by sectorial laws. Since 2012, the Department has been accredited as a Research Body and is listed in the National Register of Research of MIUR.

COOSS researchers have an important background in the collection and analysis of needs, in testing innovative solutions and managing complex processes.

Over the past twenty-five years, the Department has participated as coordinator and/or consortium partner in pilot and experimental projects within major national and European programs.
